It all started with a simple idea: why should great food and essential fishing gear be in two different places? Born from a love for San Diego's vibrant coastline and community, Burgers, Bait & Beer was founded to be the one-stop spot where a perfect day begins and ends.
The Spark (2018)
The concept was sketched on a napkin at a local beach, fueled by the frustration of having to choose between grabbing a bite and picking up bait. We envisioned a welcoming hub for both anglers and food lovers right here in San Diego.
Building the Hybrid (2020)
We opened our doors, blending a classic burger joint with a well-stocked bait shop. The addition of a curated beer selection, featuring local San Diego crafts and premium non-alcoholic options like Athletic Brewing Co., completed the unique trifecta.
Roots in the Community
Today, we're more than a business; we're a local gathering point. A San Diego native with over 15 years in the restaurant industry and a lifelong passion for fishing. AJ created this unique spot to bring together his two favorite things: serving up incredible burgers and helping fellow anglers get out on the water.

Beer Curator & Operations
Maria knows San Diego's craft beer scene inside and out. She personally selects every beer on our menu, with a special focus on local brews and premium non-alcoholic options. Ask her for the perfect pairing with your burger!

Bait & Tackle Specialist
Born and raised on San Diego's coast, Tommy has been fishing these waters since he could walk. He manages our bait and supply selection and is always happy to share local fishing tips or recommend the right gear for your trip.
